Mare Longue Research Station (MLRS) is supported by the universe sciences observatory of La Réunion (Observatoire des Sciences de l'Univers de La Réunion, OSUR), a joint service unit involving several research units in the fields of atmospheric sciences, Earth sciences, geography and marine and terrestrial ecology. Three other research stations including MLFS exist on the island.
